1. Agreement to Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Write Like Me Google Docs add-on ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Write Like Me ("we," "our," or "us").

2. Description of Service

Write Like Me is an AI-powered Google Docs add-on that:

Learns your unique writing style from training examples you provide
Generates content in your voice based on topics you specify
Rewrites selected text to match your writing style

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

Have a valid Google account
Grant the required permissions for the add-on to function
Provide accurate information when prompted
Be at least 13 years of age

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and any API keys you provide.

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

4.1 Available Plans

Free Trial: 10 generations total, no credit card required
Starter: $14.99/month or $160/year (75 generations/month)
Professional: $34.99/month or $370/year (250 generations/month)
Business: $129/month or $1,000/year (unlimited generations)
BYOK License: $19.99 one-time (bring your own OpenAI API key)

4.2 Billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis
All payments are processed through Stripe
Prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes

4.3 Refund Policy

Subscriptions: You may cancel at any time. Refunds are available within 7 days of initial purchase if you have used fewer than 5 generations. After 7 days or 5 generations, no refunds will be provided, but you will retain access until the end of your billing period.

BYOK License: Non-refundable once purchased, as it grants immediate access to the software.

4.4 Plan Changes

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time
Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing
Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
Generate spam, phishing content, or malware
Impersonate another person or entity
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
Use automated scripts to abuse the Service
Circumvent usage limits or billing
Share your account or API keys with others

6. Fair Use Policy (Business Plan)

The Business plan offers "unlimited" generations subject to fair use:

Designed for individual power users, not resale or API access
Excessive automated usage may be subject to review
We reserve the right to contact users with unusually high usage to discuss enterprise options

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of:

Training examples you provide (Google Docs, web links)
Content generated using the Service
Your writing style profile

7.2 Our Service

We retain ownership of:

The Write Like Me software, code, and interface
Our trademarks, logos, and branding
Documentation and marketing materials

7.3 License Grant

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your training examples for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We reserve the right to utilize anonymized and aggregated training profile data for research, analysis, and service improvement purposes. Your individual content will not be shared with or used to train AI models for other users.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party services:

Google Workspace: Subject to Google's Terms of Service
OpenAI: AI processing is subject to OpenAI's usage policies
Stripe: Payment processing is subject to Stripe's Terms of Service

We are not responsible for the actions, content, or policies of third-party services.

9. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) Terms

If you purchase the BYOK License:

You are responsible for your own OpenAI API costs
You must comply with OpenAI's terms of service
We are not responsible for charges incurred on your OpenAI account
Your API key is stored securely and only used for your requests

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
Generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your purposes
The Service will meet your specific requirements

You are responsible for reviewing and editing all generated content before use.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Write Like Me and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Content you generate using the Service

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service at any time through:

The Stripe customer portal (Manage Subscription in Settings)
Contacting our support team

13.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access if you:

Violate these Terms
Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
Fail to pay subscription fees

We will provide notice before termination when possible, except in cases of serious violations.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

Your access to the Service will end
You may request deletion of your data
Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

Posting the updated Terms on this page
Updating the "Last Updated" date
Sending email notification for significant changes

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court.

15.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

15.4 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Write Like Me regarding the Service.

15.5 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
